The journalist best known for his coverage of document leaker Edward Snowden and U.S. state surveillance is coming to Ottawa to discuss Canada’s state security.

Glenn Greenwald will discuss the Canadian Security Establishment Canada in his Oct. 25 Ottawa talk.

He’ll discuss how state surveillance and privacy impact Canadians under the title, ‘Canada, America – Together into the Storm.’

Greenwald and other journalists at Britain’s The Guardian newspaper were awarded the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for their coverage of the Snowden affair. He is also a best-selling author who has written extentively about civil rights, privacy and other topics.

The talk will be moderated by Jesse Brown, a freelance journalist who has covered privacy, surveillance and digital rights for a number of Canadian media outlets.

Tickets to Greenwald’s talk at The Auditorium, 440 Albert St., are $35 for regular admission and $20 for students, with a select number of tickets available at $40 to a private reception afterwards.
