Environment Canada has posted a warning of potential severe thunderstorms for Smiths Falls, Perth and Eastern Lanark County.
The agency also issued warnings for areas near the St. Lawrence River including Cornwall, Maxville, Lancaster, Alexandria, Morrisburg and Long Sault.
The agency said it was tracking several clusters of thunderstorms in both areas “capable of producing very strong wind gusts, dime- to nickel-size hail and torrential rain.”
Environment Canada advises people to take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
“Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors,” the agency said in a release.
