Dear Parent or Guardian
Subject: The City of Ottawa’s New Child Care Registry and Waitlist
We are contacting you at the request of the City of Ottawa to advise you of an upcoming change to the Child Care Registry and Waitlist in our city. Our records indicate that you have a child or children on our Centralized Waitlist.
As you may know, since 2001, Child Care Information, a program of Andrew Fleck Child Care Services, has been operating the Child Care Registry and Waitlist under contract to the City. As of this June, the City will operate the Child Care Registry and Waitlist with a new provider, using a new software system. In order to ensure that important information, including the original date of your application, is preserved in the system through the transition, the City has requested that we provide them with some of your personal information. This information would be transferred to them by April 28, 2014 so that they can test and launch the new system. The personal information they have requested and the only information that would be transferred is:
·Parent(s)/Guardian(s) name, ward, mailing address, phone number and email address
·Child(ren)’s name, DOB and if there is a sibling application
·Date of original application and date child care is required
·Language option chosen
·Financial option chosen (full fee or subsidy)
Should you not wish to have your personal information shared, or if you no longer wish to participate in the waitlist system, please reply to this email by end of the day April 24, 2014 and we will ensure that your personal information is removed and not transferred.
For parents remaining on the new waitlist, the City will contact you after the new system is launched and provide instructions on how to activate your new account, select and update Child Care programs and agencies.
Child Care Information (CCI) will continue to provide guidance and information on all available child care options in Ottawa. Our bilingual information counsellors will continue to be available by phone or in person to help parents make informed child care choices.
