Gatineau police tracked down a suspected serial gas station robber and an apparent accomplice early today after two stations were knocked off about 90 minutes apart.
The first robbery was at about 1 a.m. when a man threatened an employee at the dépanneur in the Ultrmar gas station at 1001 Chemin Masson in Gatineau.
The clerk was not injured and the man made off with an unspecified amount of cash.
About 90 minutes later, a second Ultramar convenience store was hit at 320 Gréber Blvd. The suspect again threatened the clerk, although no weapon was reported and made off with an unspecified amount of money.
The second clerk was able to provide a description of the suspect’s vehicle, and at about 3:10 a.m., it was spotted parked outside a motel at 137 Gréber Bolvd.
One hour later, Gatineau police arrested a Gatineau resident as he left a room.
Police say the suspect was in the company of a 25-year-old woman, who was wanted on a warrant in Montreal.
Police said both suspects could face robbery charges.
