A woman will appear in court Monday morning after a fire in an apartment building in Gatineau late Sunday evening.
Gatineau Fire said the fire began at about 9:25 p.m. in a four-storey building at 150 Gréber Blvd. leading to the evacuation of approximately 100 residents. Firefighters were able to mostly contain the fire to apartment 106B.
Several residents approached police on the scene which led to the interview of a 37-year-old woman, also resident of the building, who was then charged with arson and breach of probation. Police would not confirm that the apartment on fire was her residence. She is expected to appear in court Monday.
Residents were able to return to their apartments by 11 p.m.
No injuries were reported. Damage to the building was estimated at $50,000.
