Ottawa – Mayor Jim Watson and Councillor David Chernushenko will be joined by Councillor Peter Hume, Chair of the Planning Committee, Bernie Ashe, CEO Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG), as well as many special guests to officially open the Lansdowne Park. The opening is the culmination of more than a year of intensive construction to complete the new 18-acre urban park at Lansdowne.
Date: Friday, August 15, 2014
Time: 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.
Location: Lansdowne Park, south side of Aberdeen Pavilion, 450 Queen Elizabeth Driveway
There will be no parking on-site during the event. A shuttle bus for media will depart from the Lisgar Street entrance of City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West) at 12:15 p.m. A return shuttle will be provided following the event.
On Saturday, August 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. residents of Ottawa are invited to celebrate the opening of Lansdowne Park with an old-fashioned carnival and picnic in the park. Visit ottawa.ca for details.
