Photos: Special Needs Day at Capital Fair

The Capital Fair kicked off Thursday with Special Needs Day hosted by Hydro Ottawa.

Since 1998, the fair had been held in May, but organizers have moved to summer to avoid clashes with school, hockey playoffs, unpredictable spring weather and to eventually give the fair a larger agricultural component. They also chose a new name — submitted to a contest by a family from North Bay — to give a more regional appeal.

The location stays the same: Adjacent to Rideau Carleton Raceway on Albion Road.
