Ottawa – Starting Monday, August 18, the Fitzroy Station Bridge over the Carp River will be closed for approximately 10 weeks for rehabilitation work.
During this closure, Galetta Side Road will also be closed. A signed detour route will be provided along Harbour Street, Fitzroy Street and Canon Smith Drive to direct drivers and will be fully accessible for pedestrians and cyclists.
The Fitzroy Station Bridge Rehabilitation project is a $612,000 initiative to extend the life of the bridge. This work will include repairs to the box girders, parapet walls and approach slabs and include expansion joint replacements. The roadway on the bridge and approaches will also be resurfaced.
This project is an Ottawa on the Move initiative. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs. For more information, visit ottawa.ca.
