A 35-year-old Ottawa man is in custody after a convenience store was robbed in Gatineau on Saturday morning.
A man entered the Quickie store at 487 Taché Blvd at 9:32 a.m. and brandished a knife at the clerk, demanding money and lottery tickets, Gatineau police said.
The clerk gave the man what he wanted, and the suspect left on a bike.
En route to the call, police encountered a man fitting the description of the suspect and pursued him as he tried to run away on foot. They caught up to him after a few hundred metres and placed him under arrest.
He is expected to be charged in this a robbery and in another which occurred at the Shell station on Montcalm Road on Aug. 10. He is expected to appear in court Monday.
