The Ottawa Senators announced on Tuesday the club agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $4.65 million with the veteran forward.
The total value of the contract is $23.25 million, broken down to $4.5 million in each of the contract's first two seasons and $4.75 million in each of the final three seasons.
MacArthur scored 24 goals and added 31 assists in 79 games during his first season with the Senators in 2013-14.
The 29-year-old signed a two-year, $6.5 million contract with the Senators in 2013 free agency after spending his previous three seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In 482 career games with the Senators, Leafs, Buffalo Sabres and Atlanta Thrashers, he has scored 117 goals and 268 points.
He was drafted in the third round - 74th overall - of the 2003 NHL Draft by the Sabres.
