POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: WEB DEVELOPER
FUNCTION: The Web developer participates in the design, development, and testing of web applications using .NET technologies, SQL, XML, HTML etc.
REPORTS TO: Manager Application Development
EFFECTIVE DATE: April 2012
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain console and web applications using, ASP.NET, VB.NET and HTML.
· Participate in the design, tuning, testing and debugging of database applications, including the design and development of stored procedures using TSQL, ADO.NET, and XML.
· Participate in the planning and development of architectural and system design, such as N-Tier architecture, Object Oriented development, system integration, interoperability, etc
· Participate in the evaluation of new technologies for immediate and future use. Examples include but are not limited to: GIS, content management systems, wireless technology and new or changing programming frameworks and methodologies. Continually learn new technologies and technological advancements and continually refine and improve existing technology skills in order to maximize development and application efficiency.
· Maintain an awareness of computer industry and technology developments and their relevance to existing and planned application development and maintenance.
· Act as an internal consultant regarding the growth and enhancement of technology initiatives for CREA and its Member Boards and Associations.
· Act as an internal consultant to CREA Managers particularly (but not exclusively) related to: project planning, project development timelines, technology options and recommendations, and application functional, design, and user requirements.
· Act as an internal consultant to the Design Team and Graphic Artists regarding the development of application and User Interface designs and requirements.
· Participate in application and User Interface design, refinement, and testing processes.
· Display a strong understanding of CREA standards and CREA data, specifically with regards to its Real Estate System (RES). Develop and maintain an intimate knowledge and understanding of the data and data standards, and continually strive to refine and improve the data systems used.
· Troubleshoot and resolve reported system errors and deficiencies in a timely manner.
· Write, review, and maintain User, Developer, and other technical documentation.
· Continually meet or exceed client and management expectations while juggling multiple projects with rapidly changing requirements and deadlines.
· Act as a lead developer when and where required in order to streamline application development processes. Mentor/coach new and existing peers on new technologies.
· Assist with project planning, design reviews, system testing, and deliverables for clients.
· Recommend appropriate revisions to processes, procedures, and operations based on results of system performance monitoring reports.
QUALIFICATIONS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum education requirement College or University degree in Information Technology
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in .NET environment
- French language skills considered an asset
