Ottawa – Beginning today, August 21, St. Patrick Street will be reduced to one lane in either direction between King Edward Avenue and the Vanier Parkway during all hours of the day.
These all-day lane reductions are required to complete additional roadwork resulting from the recent inclement weather. Some overnight work will also be required. The lanes are expected to reopen to peak period traffic before 6 a.m. on Monday, August 25.
This work is part of the St. Patrick Street Rehabilitation project, a $2.3 million investment to reconfigure and resurface St. Patrick Street and improve cycling facilities along the corridor. The project schedule has been accelerated to provide improved road and cycling infrastructure to local residents sooner than originally planned.
The St. Patrick Street Rehabilitation is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2014.
