Ottawa – Beginning on Monday, August 25, St. Andrew Street and Guigues Avenue will be closed at Sussex Drive. The closures will facilitate sewer and road work being done as part of the Sussex Drive Reconstruction project. Closures will be signed and the intersections will remain closed until October 19.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction period. All commercial and residential buildings will remain accessible and businesses will be open as usual. Motorists and cyclists will be able to access St. Andrew Street and Guigues Avenue from Parent Avenue. Guigues Avenue, normally a one-way eastbound street, will accommodate two-way traffic during the closure. Signage will be in place at the intersection of Guigues Avenue and Parent Avenue to guide motorists and cyclists.
The Sussex Drive Reconstruction is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
