Two members of the University of Ottawa’s now suspended hockey team have been charged with sexually assaulting a woman in Thunder Bay months after the allegations came to light.
Thunder Bay police, who have revealed limited information on the allegations and subsequent police investigation, confirmed Friday that the charges relate to an assault of a 21-year-old woman on Feb. 2 at a West Arthur Street hotel in Thunder Bay. Sources told the Citizen the alleged assault occurred at the Victoria Inn, where the U of O’s men’s hockey team was staying during a pair of away games.
Guillaume Donovan, 24, and David Foucher, 25, both of Gatineau, have been charged with sexual assault. They have been released on an undertaking and will appear in a Thunder Bay court on Sept. 30.
More to come.
