A woman was taken to hospital after an apartment fire caused by unattended cooking late Saturday afternoon, paramedics say.
Paramedics received a call about a fire at 69 Putman Ave. at about 5:30 p.m.
When firefighters arrived, they smelled smoke coming from an apartment in the building.
They broke down the door, and rescued a woman who was suffering from smoke inhalation.
An investigator has been called to the scene.
No one was displaced, and there were no other injuries reported.
