Two men jumped into the frigid water near Bate Island on Saturday evening to save a 12-year-old child from drowning, but a 39-year-old man remains missing.
Ottawa paramedics received a call about the incident around 7 p.m.
They said the 24-year-old man managed to save the child, who was slightly hypothermic, after being pulled from the water.
Paramedics helped the two get dried off and warmed up. No one has been transported to hospital.
