Ottawa – Mayor Jim Watson will host the commanding officers and representatives of the 17 military units and the Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps “Falkland”, who have been granted Freedom of the City of Ottawa over the past 120 years. A commemorative montage honouring the 18 recipients will be unveiled at a special ceremony at City Council

In Ottawa Freedom of the City was first granted in 1894 to the 14th Battalion of Kingston by His Worship George Cox and most recently in 2013 to the 33 Canadian Brigade Group by His Worship Jim Watson.
