Changes in Hampton Park will please cyclists, as well as neighbourhood dogs and their owners.
The City of Ottawa officially opened both a new fenced, leash-free dog area and a new multi-use pathway on Monday morning.
News media, and some delighted dogs, were invited to the opening.
The pathway connects Kirkwood Avenue and Island Park Drive, opening up a four-kilometre cycling route to Carling Avenue, according to the city’s announcement.
In addition, several improvements to cycling lanes on neighbouring streets and intersections are now complete.
