A bail hearing for Gurpreet Ronald, accused of the murder of Jagter Gill, was adjourned Tuesday over an undisclosed legal issue and is now expected to begin Wednesday.
Ronald, a 35-year-old mother of two, is charged jointly with Bhupinderpal Gill, 38, in the first-degree murder of Gill’s wife Jagtar.
Gill and Ronald, who were allegedly lovers and lived in the same neighbourhood, have been in custody since their arrest in April. They were both OC Transpo employees.
Jagtar Gill, mother of three, was found dead by her eldest daughter in January at the family’s Barrhaven home.
Her husband and Ronald were apparently under police surveillance in the weeks before their arrests.
The two are expected to be tried together but are applying for bail separately.
Bhupinderpal Gill’s bail hearing is scheduled for October.
