Friends and family of a Toronto woman last seen Aug. 14 fear she may be confused and trying to make her way to family in the Ottawa area.
Kit Currie, 50, had recently struggled with her mental health, according to her family and friends.
They said was in stable condition, but reported that she was hearing voices in August. They believe that Currie may be frightened and hiding in a wooded area or trying to make her way to her family in Ottawa.
Supporters said there was a credible sighting of Currie in Toronto’s Bayview-Eglington neighbourhood Saturday afternoon.
A man said a woman who looked like Currie walked up to him and asked, “Can you spare some change. I need to get back to my family in Ottawa.”
Currie’s elderly parents and a brother live in Ottawa.
Currie, who lives in the area of Bloor Street West and Dundas Street West in Toronto, is described as 5’4″ with red hair, brown eyes.
She is an artist and an avid cyclist, who was last seen in the Dufferin Street and Bloor Street West area on her black bicycle with black fenders and a green milk crate on the back.
For more information, friends and family have set up a website, FindKitCurrie .
