A 25-year-old Smiths Falls man remained in custody after attacking three people and killing a dog.
Smiths Falls Police said in a news release Thursday that the man became enraged when saw his girlfriend walking with another person in Confederation Park on Aug. 23. The other person was threatened, then kicked and kneed.
Police said the man then went to his girlfriend’s residence where he assaulted two other people and killed a dog before fleeing on foot when police arrived. He was apprehended soon after.
Police said the man, whose name was not released, was being held for bail. He is charged with three counts of assault, uttering a death threat, killing an animal and breaching probation.
