A trio of bystanders lifted a car and pulled a trapped man from beneath it Thursday afternoon.
Ottawa Paramedics said a 55-year-old man was working under the car in the Bayshore Drive area when the hydraulic jack supporting the vehicle lost pressure. The car fell and pinned the man beneath it.
The man managed to shout for help and three bystanders were able to lift the car off the man’s chest and pull him to safety, paramedics said in a news release.
The man was conscious and alert when paramedics arrived after receiving the call at about 3:10 p.m. He was taken to hospital where he was reported in serious but stable condition.
