Ottawa – The King Edward Avenue off-ramp to Union Street will be closed on Thursday, September 4, beginning from 6 p.m. until midnight. This closure is necessary to complete the re-surfacing of the ramp. During this period, access to parking lots at 111 and 125 Sussex Drive may be closed for an interval of up to 30 minutes.
This work is a part of the Sussex Drive Integrated Road, Sewer and Watermain Rehabilitation Project, a $36.4 million investment to upgrade sewer lines and underground utilities and improve the roadway and streetscaping on Sussex Drive between St. Patrick Street and King Edward Avenue. This work includes the replacement of the existing combined sewer with independent storm and sanitary sewers. This reduction of combined sewer flow is a component of the Ottawa River Action Plan, our City’s commitment to protect the health of the Ottawa River and provide cleaner water, safer beaches and a better environment.
The Sussex Drive Integrate Road, Sewer and Watermain Rehabilitation is an Ottawa on the Move project. Ottawa on the Move is about keeping our community and economy moving forward through strategic investments in a number of transportation, water, and sewer projects to build a better city and create jobs.
