Ottawa - Due to yesterday’s heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, the City of Ottawa is advising residents of the following:
The City encourages residents to check in on family and neighbours who may be isolated and need assistance. If you or anyone you know is in need of assistance, please call 3-1-1. If it is life threatening, call 9-1-1.
Power Outages:
For more information regarding areas affected by power outages, please visit Hydro Ottawa or Hydro One. If you are affected by a power outage, please visit ottawa.ca for more information on food safety.
Flooding
Information about basement floods can be found here. Residents are reminded to call 3-1-1 to report flood damage. For more information on flooding and your health, please visit ottawa.ca.
Debris
Debris can be placed at the curb on the regular scheduled green bin/leaf and yard waste day. Branches are to be tied in bundles of less than 1.2 m (4 ft.) in length and 60 cm (2 ft.) in width. City crews are working on making hazardous trees safe and will move into smaller debris clean up in parks early in the week. To report debris on the road, including downed trees and branches, please fill out a service request.
Traffic Signals
To report a problem with traffic signals, please call 3-1-1.
The City will continue to provide updated information on ottawa.ca and on Twitter.
