Ottawa – There will be increased construction activity in the vicinity of the Airport Parkway pedestrian/cycling bridge that will result in temporary road closures. These closures are required to install cable stays to support the Airport Parkway pedestrian/cycling bridge.
On Thursday, September 25 and Saturday September 27,the Airport Parkway will be closed from Brookfield Road to Hunt Club Road beginning at 7 p.m. and will re-open at 4 a.m. of the next day.
A detour will be in place directing traffic to use Hunt Club Road, Riverside Drive, Hogs Back Road and the Airport Parkway.
During all road closures, digital message signs will be in place to remind motorists of the closure and detours. Motorists are reminded to plan ahead.
For the remainder of the project, flagging operations will take place occasionally at off-peak times during the day to facilitate construction activities. Please exercise caution around work areas. Regulatory speed limits along the construction zone have been lowered to 60 km/h.
