Ottawa – Thanks to the many organizations that volunteered their support and services, the 2014 free summer activities and special events at City Hall was a success – drawing more than 9,100 participants.

The weekly activities featured such activities as running and walking clinics, Yoga, Tai Chi, recreation sports, noon-hour concerts and salsa dancing. Roller derby weekends, the Japanese Festival and an outdoor film night were also part of the free special events that took place during the two-month program.

The Mayor and the Chair of the Community and Protective Services Committee, on behalf of their Council colleagues and the entire City of Ottawa, extend their appreciation to all the local organizations, and says that this popular program would not be possible without their support.

The free summer activities is one of the key features in making City Hall a people place for all seasons, in addition to the Karsh-Masson Gallery, Barbara Ann Scott Gallery, Ottawa Art Gallery, Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame, and the popular winter attraction, the Sens Rink of Dreams.
