安省省警（OPP）10日说，在感恩节长周末的警方联合临检行动的首日，便在密西沙加和多伦多西北部接连拦截了两名行车时速超过200公里的华裔驾驶。

10日凌晨1时过后不久，在403高速公路接近艾格林顿（Eglinton Avenue）路口执勤的警员，看到一辆BMW 以229公里的时速飞驰时，立即將之截停。省警的警长史密特说，驾驶这辆BMW的是22岁的新驾驶员李松矛（Songmao Li译音），警方当场控告他表演性驾驶（stunt driving），並扣留其汽车和驾照。

数小时后，警方又在400號公路芬治街（Finch Avenue）路口附近截停一辆时速超过200公里的宾士（Mercedes），控告29岁的北约克居民杨俊云（Jeong Moon Youn译音）表演性驾驶等罪名和扣留其汽车、驾照。

史密特警长说：「这样的行为不仅將驾驶自己的生命置於危险之中，同样也危及旁人的生命安全。」

省警本周初公布的统计数据显示，今年以来安省发生的51宗交通事故死亡事件中，主要肇因就是车速过快。

A young man was fined and lost his driver’s licence for several months after speeding past a Gatineau police officer while going over three times the posted limit.

Police said the officer registered the vehicle going over 160 kilometres per hour around 3:30 a.m. on Fournier Boulevard near Lambert Street in Gatineau. The posted speed limit on that road is 50 kilometres per hour, police said.

The officer followed the car, which held three passengers and the driver, but was not able to catch up to it until it had crossed in to Ottawa. The car, which has an Ontario licence plate, was stopped on King Edward Avenue.

The driver, who is in his 20s, was charged with impaired driving and was issued a fine of $1,640 and 24 demerit points, leading to a three-month suspension of his driver’s licence.

Police did not identify the name of the man charged, his city of residence, nor the type of vehicle being driven.
