Jean-Paul St. Pierre, longtime mayor of the town of Russell, east of Ottawa, died suddenly Saturday morning.
St-Pierre, who was running for re-election, Donald St-Pierre, was also Warden of the United Counties of Prescott Russell and was this year’s president of the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus.
There was no immediate word on cause of death.
