Hydro Ottawa reports that as many as 30,000 homes were without power for about 30 minutes in “old Nepean” and Barrhaven neighbourhoods.
The cause of the blackout is still under investigation.
The city owned utility said restoration of power has been delayed while crews wait on “third party clearance”.
Hydro Ottawa said the incident was not related to the shooting incidents downtown.
Power was restored by 1:30 p.m.
