There will be extra Ottawa police officers on traffic duty in the area around the Ottawa RedBlacks game Friday night to guard trick-or-treaters.
Game time is 7 p.m., which is also a prime time for little monsters collecting chocolate.
To reduce the chance of injury to a child there are two changes:
• There will be no shuttle service along Lakeside Avenue. Randy Burgess of Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group (OSEG) said the shuttle will stick to arterial streets such as Carling and Bronson Avenues to avoid trick-or-treaters on the residential Lakeside.
• Ottawa police say they are increasing the number of officers on traffic duty around the football stadium. This is in addition to the number of police already working the game on pay duty.
