Wondering how your newly-elected city councillor will be spending his or her time over the next few weeks?
Well, it looks like they’re going to be busy. The city clerk’s office has put together an exhaustive orientation schedule to teach the rookies about everything from council procedures and office management to planning, transit, budgeting and trash.
Class begins on Tuesday at 1 p.m. with a lesson on the role of city councillors.
The new council will be sworn in on Dec. 1 and hold its first council meeting two days later. Committee chairs won’t be picked until the following week, when the new council considers the nominating committee’s report.
