Police confirm they are investigating a Halloween party at Mont Cascades ski centre Friday night that resulted in about a dozen young people being transported to hospital for drug and/or alcohol poisoning.
None of the incidents appeared to be life-threatening.
The “Spookland” party, organized by a private company, attracted about 1,000 people, including many from several Ottawa schools, some of them transported via chartered buses.
It was the third annual Spookland Halloween party. While the party was supposedly open for 16-year-olds and over, drinking was limited to those over the age of 18.
Alcohol was apparently sold at the site.
There was no response to messages left at the Spookland Facebook page.
MRC des Collines police said this morning there remained a number of conflicting version of last night’s events and they did not expect to release any information until later today.
More to come.
