The 16-year-old Ottawa girl found drugged, half-naked and unconscious at an out-of-control Halloween party in Mont Cascades still has no memory of what happened because someone slipped her GHB, the date rape drug.
A Quebec police officer was only able to speak with her for a few minutes at hospital. She later met with police after she was released to her home Saturday afternoon.
Detectives, still scouring for witnesses among the 1,000 Ottawa partygoers, are waiting for lab results and are for now presuming she was sexually assaulted. Police confirmed Sunday the teen had been given GHB without her knowledge.
Two other girls, aged 16 and 17, told MRC des Collines police that they were inappropriately touched in the mass lineup. Only one of the teens has filed an official complaint. A fourth teen girl has called police and they are waiting for her to file a formal complaint.
Police described Friday night’s Spookland party as a chaotic nightmare with partygoers from Ottawa doing drugs and drinking aboard shuttle buses.
There was no screening when the partygoers boarded the buses. Once at the Mont Cascades site, police said security was flawed and that an untold number of partygoers were not screened as they entered the licensed site for the DJ party for ages 16 to 21. The drinking age in Quebec is 18.

In all, nine partygoers were rushed to hospital for alcohol and drug poisoning. The youngest patient, a 15-year-old Ottawa boy, was released from the intensive-care unit on Saturday afternoon.
It took police from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. to clear out the partygoers from the Mont Cascades resort, just north of Ottawa.
“I’m with the DJ”, identified as the event’s host promoter on the Spookland Facebook page, said in a weekend statement, “They had somehow behaved well enough to make it onto the buses, but upon arrival, were found to be seriously unwell.”
“Event staff immediately summoned on-site paramedics in order that the students be safe and properly taken care of,” the promoter messaged to the Citizen.
“There were indeed some challenges and delays to having attendees enter the venue (which were due) to thorough screening at the door by qualified security personnel to ensure nothing inappropriate was brought into the venue,” the promoter said. “We regret any perception and misinformation that we in any way tolerated contravention of the event rules or of our zero tolerance policy on underage drinking and no drugs or paraphernalia.”
Spookland drew people from across the capital region, including many from several Ottawa schools.
Some parents had received calls from children “who weren’t expecting this type of party,” police said.
It was the third annual Spookland Halloween party.
The promoter said the company would not make any further statements on the matter.
Police are asking anyone with information about the event, as well as the sexual allegations, to contact investigators.?
