Snow on Saturday. Maybe Sunday, too. Sure as yawns after a time change, winter is arriving.
But with highs of 1 C Saturday and 2 C Sunday also expected by Environment Canada for the Ottawa area, we’re not likely to see that snow sticking around. Yet.
The weather service is calling for up to two centimetres of snow starting Saturday afternoon, and a 40-per-cent chance of flurries or showers on Sunday. The temperature is expected to drop to -3 by Sunday night.
Next week’s forecast is similar, with rain or flurries possible on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and a mix of sun and cloud on Thursday. The high should reach 5 Monday and Tuesday before dropping to zero later in the week, while the low will range from 1 to -7.
Normal range for this time of year is -1 to 6, so we’re a bit colder than usual.
