Three 17-year-old males were injured, one of them critically, in a single-car crash in Barrhaven late Saturday night.
Police said the car went out of control at the intersection of Longfields Drive and Chapman Mills Way just after 10:30 p.m. and struck a light standard.
Paramedics said two of the teenagers were trapped in the vehicle when crews arrived. One of them, a 17-year-old front passenger, is in critical condition with multi-system trauma and was transported to The Ottawa Hospital’s trauma centre at the Civic.
Another teenager is in stable condition with injuries to his upper body.
Fire crews had to remove the roof of the vehicle to get to the teenagers trapped in the car.
A third teenager was walking outside the vehicle when paramedics arrived. He suffered a head injury and is in stable condition at hospital.
Police are investigating the crash and the intersection is closed for their investigation.
