Police in the MRC des Collines, north of Gatineau, say a young motorist was lucky to escape unscathed when a fencepost smashed through her windshield at eye level on the passenger’s side when she lost control of her car during Monday’s snow squalls.
The crash occurred shortly at about 2:30 p.m. when the 18-year-old’s car went out of control on Mountain Street in Chelsea and smashed through a farm gate.
No one was in the passenger’s seat and the driver was unhurt.
