Residents of the Fairbrooke Court areas of Arnprior continue to be under a boil water advisory Tuesday after drilling operations by a contractor damaged the systems and caused a drop in water pressure.
A reduction in pressure in the water distribution system means that groundwater or soil contamination could seep into the watermain pipes through small cracks or leaks.
Water users in the affected area should bring water to a rolling boil for at least one
minute then cooling before drinking or using it in preparing foods.
The boiled water can be placed in clean containers for future use, and should be used for brushing teeth or rinsing dishes.
Other non-consumption uses, such as showering, are safe.
For more information on the advisory and water conditions, check the city website.
