United States Marines from the American embassy in Ottawa paid a visit to Ronald McDonald House onThursday to bring Christmas gifts and smiles to young CHEO patients.


The Marines, based here to provide security to the embassy, collect new toys during the fall months through their worldwide Toys For Tots campaign and bring them to the kids this time each year.

Vicki Heyman, wife of U.S. Ambassador to Canada Bruce Heyman, was also there to greet the children.

Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for patients at the nearby Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and their families.
