Volunteers as young as four years, and others with luminous titles like Governor General and Mayor of Ottawa, helped pack over 400 hampers to delivery to families on Friday, Dec. 19.
The hampers are part of the Caring and Sharing Exchange, an Ottawa charity in its 99th year that provides holiday assistance to families and individuals in the city. This help can be either a redeemable gift voucher or a hamper full of festive food so all can enjoy a Christmas meal.
The charity says they receive requests for help from 20,000 individuals each yet, that’s about 1 out of every 50 in our community.
