Ottawa police were advising motorists to avoid a section of downtown roadway Sunday evening after one of the force’s cruisers struck and knocked down a lamppost.
Laurier Avenue between Kent and Bay streets, and Lyon Street at Slater Street were both closed for hours overnight. All roads had reopened before the busy Monday morning commute.
Numerous people nearby took to social media at around 11 p.m. to share photos of the crash.
