A man in his 50s was taken to hospital Wednesday morning after asthma symptoms were apparently caused by a strong odour at the main Canada Post building.
The odours prompted officials to order a precautionary evacuation of the building at 1424 Sanford Fleming Ave.
Paramedics were called to the building at around 9:30 a.m. when a man began to exhibit signs of medical distress.
Upon their arrival, they found and assessed others who were suffering headaches and dizziness from the unidentified odour but they did not require treatment.
Ottawa firefighters pulled the evacuation alarm when they arrived shortly after 10 a.m. Firefighters took air samples for carbon monoxide but nothing was detected.
