The 23-year-old missing Ottawa man who was last seen at the beginning of December has been found safe and sound, police say.
Mathieu Godin called police on Wednesday to tell them he was safe the day after his mother, Stéphanie Henri, made a public appeal to help find her son.
“He’s always kept in touch with us no matter what,” Stéphanie Henri said Tuesday. “There’s no reason for him not to keep in touch.”
Godin was last seen by friends downtown on Dec. 3. Henri told the Citizen that Godin was last seen by his father on Nov. 29, when they shared a meal and a coffee together before his father dropped him off downtown.
The family reported Godin missing on Dec. 16 and Henri said she has been trying to reach out through the media and Facebook to people who might have known where he was.
Godin was not working or in school at the time of his disappearance.
He graduated from Gisèle-Lalonde high school in Orléans in 2009.
Henri said she just wants to hear Godin’s voice again.
