Police say a woman, 82, of Repentigny, a Montreal suburb, has died of injuries she sustained Wednesday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 50 near Papineauville, east of Gatineau.
Sûreté du Québec said the crash occurred during temporary whiteout conditions caused by high winds on the open stretch of highway.
Several other drivers were injured in the crash, although none were listed as seriously hurt.
Police are withholding the woman’s name pending notification of next of kin.
