Shoppers looking for bargains at the upcoming Target liquidation sales will need to get their caffeine fix beforehand — Target is closing its Starbucks outlets for good on Friday.
The shutdown of Starbucks at all Canadian Targets was confirmed Thursday by Eric Hausman, a Target spokesman in Minneapolis.
“Generally speaking, the team members will be re-assigned to other areas of the store,” Hausman said in an email to the Citizen.
Target has five stores in Ottawa and 133 nationwide. The company announced earlier this month it was pulling out of Canada. A liquidation sale is expected to begin in the next two to three weeks.
The Starbucks in the stores are operated as franchises by Target Canada.
