Six flights out of Ottawa’s airport to New York and Boston have already been cancelled as airlines prepare for a potentially devastating winter storm taking aim at the northeastern United States.

In total more than 1,993 flights into the U.S. for Monday and Tuesday have already been cancelled according to FlightAware, a website that tracks arrivals and departures. The website for the Ottawa International Airport shows the local situation.
Travellers are urged to monitor their flights status online as the storm is expected to rage from late Monday through Tuesday, hitting New York and Massachusetts and moving north into the Maritime provinces.
It’s expected to cause major disruptions as it brings winds of up to 90 km/h and between 15 cm and 30 cm of snow, according to Environment Canada.
