Three charged after Smiths Falls drug raid

One man and two women face drug trafficking charges after a police raid in Smiths Falls Friday night resulted in the seizure of $12,000 in drugs and cash.

Shortly before 7 p.m., police executed a search warrant at a residence on Church St. E. in Smiths Falls. The man and women were arrested without incident.

Officers then searched the residence and seized a large amount of cocaine, oxycodone pills, fentanyl patches and marijuana. Combined with a quantity of cash, the total value seized was over $12,000.

Melissa Bisonette, 26, of Smiths Falls is charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance and one count possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule II substance.

Kelly Whitney, 44, of Smiths Falls is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance and one count possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule II substance.

Monte Bisonette, 49, of Smiths Falls is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule I substance and one count possession for the purpose of trafficking a schedule II substance.

All three are in custody pending a bail hearing. The allegations have not been proven in court.
