A car driver stopped by Gatineau police has been charged after his breath sample was nearly three times the legal limit.
The man is a 42-year-old Ottawa resident who has been convicted six times for drinking and driving, and four times for driving while disqualified.
And police also saying they are analysing white powder, suspected of being cocaine, that they found in the car.
The arrest took place downtown on Hotel-de-Ville Street about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
He will be identified when he appears in a Gatineau court later Wednesday.
Police say he will likely face charges of driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit, driving while disqualified and possession of a narcotic.
