A man has had his license suspended after an early morning single-vehicle accident in L’Ange-Gardien that sent one to hospital.
MRC des Collines police said that they were called to the scene of an accident at 6 a.m. Saturday morning at Laurentides Road and Fillion à l’Ange Gardien Road in Quebec.
There, they found a Chevrolet Colorado truck on its roof on a ditch at the side of the road. A 19-year-old male driver from Gatineau and two passengers were in the vehicle. The truck was left beyond repair, police said.
One of the passengers was sent to a hospital in Buckingham to receive treatment for a hand injury.
Police believed the accident was caused by speeding and the driver being impaired. They arrested the driver, whose blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit. He will face charges related to driving under the influence.
The law requires drivers of his age to have no alcohol in their blood while driving. As a result, his license was suspended for a period of 90 days.
