Winter’s not quite done with the capital yet, as the weather office has issued a special message cautioning that freezing drizzle could be on the way this evening and overnight until Saturday.
They’re blaming a northern Minnesota distubance they say is crawling eastwards towards the Ottawa region.
“Some snow as well as patchy freezing drizzle or freezing rain is quite likely across portions of Central and Eastern Ontario late (Friday) and Saturday. Although accumulations will be quite light, some locally slippery roads are possible due to the wintery mix,” the message reads.
The weather this Friday the 13th is expected to be mainly cloudy with a 60-per-cent chance of flurries late this morning and this afternoon.
Forecast high is -1 C, a low of -4 C.
St. Patrick’s Day paraders may be disappointed to hear the outlook is for the freezing drizzle, changing to regular drizzle early in the evening.
Saturday’s high is expected to be 1 C through the day, but should continue to climb overnight to a high of 6 C Sunday under mixed skies.
