Ottawa Public Health, in partnership with WSPS and the MHCC, will be hosting the one-day workshop to help workplaces implement the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace. Participants will learn how to use the newly released Implementation Guide. As well, a guest panel of workplaces participating in the MHCC’s case study project will share their experiences in adopting the Standard.

Guest speakers include:

  • Andrew Harkness, Strategy Advisor, Organizational Health Initiatives, WSPS; and member of the Technical Committee on the Psychological Health and Safety Standard in the Workplace

  • Guest panel participants from Ontario Shores and Via Rail

Mental health in the workplace is an important health concern and fiscal responsibility for any organization or business.

Each week, 500,000 Canadians miss work because of a mental health problem or illness.

In 2013, the MHCC, the Bureau de normalisation du Québec (BNQ), and the Canadian Standard Association (CSA) released the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace to provide a framework for creating and maintaining psychologically safe and healthy workplaces.
